Remote & Wilderness Architecture · Alaska

Built where no road goes.

Z Architects has designed more helicopter-access wilderness buildings than any other Alaska firm — from the Sheldon Mountain House on the Ruth Glacier at 5,700 feet to the Tordrillo Mountain Lodge complex on Judd Lake, the Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge, and remote backcountry refuges accessible only by float-plane or Super Cub. Every remote project is engineered for the specific site: snow load, wind exposure, access constraints, and off-grid energy.
