The Old Cannery Bar is a commercial conversion of an existing Kenai Peninsula structure into a casual dining and drinking destination rooted in the region's fishing and cannery heritage.
Salvaged timber from the original cannery building was milled and re-incorporated into the bar structure and ceiling, creating a material continuity between the building's past and present.
The design intentionally avoids the nostalgic kitsch common to cannery-themed hospitality — instead presenting the structure's industrial bones honestly, with steel connections exposed and the original concrete floor polished and sealed.
