Lake Clark Air's Merrill Field facility consolidates passenger terminal, cargo handling, and aircraft maintenance operations under a single clear-span steel structure — the first purpose-built facility for the operator in its 40-year history.
The passenger lounge is oriented to face the active runway and tie-down area, giving arriving and departing guests an unobstructed view of the aircraft throughout their transit experience.
The envelope is designed for Zone 7 performance: R-40 walls, R-60 roof, and a continuous air barrier that allows the building to maintain 68°F interior temperatures during sustained -30°F cold snaps without supplemental electric resistance heating.
