The AWCC Bears III restroom is one of the smallest projects in Z Architects' portfolio — and one of the most constrained. The facility serves several hundred visitors per day during peak summer season at a location with no municipal water or sewer.
Composting toilet systems eliminate the need for a septic system, allowing the building to be permitted and constructed without utility trenching across the sensitive wildlife corridor.
The timber-frame exterior matches the material palette of the nearby Bears and Bison education halls — creating a cohesive campus language across all AWCC visitor facilities.
